A shocking Election

In a surprising move, the USCCB broke a long time tradition of electing the Vice-President to the top post. It was unprecedented according to many. True. I honestly was just waiting for the results early this morning about Bishop Kicanas becoming the President of the Conference. When I got the news, I said, What! Unfortunately, it wasn’t the case. There was a huge turn of events which saddened me because it was sort of expected that the incumbent VP takes the leadership. I’m not biased, maybe, I am but Bishop Kicanas worked hard and prepared well for the position. In the days leading up to the election, it was very disappointing to read the comments made by right-wing Catholic bloggers against his stance on orthodoxy.  But, I don’t think it was a big factor. Still, it is totally unfair to put him in the pillory. Amen.

  1. Well, Father it seems to be a country-wide trend to lean to the conservative, so the Church is just in step with the vocal right of this country. “God writes straight with crooked lines.”
