World Priest Sunday

Last Friday afternoon, a stranger dropped a bag of chocolates for me. I thought it was a Halloween treat. When opened it, WWME was at the bottom of that little note. This simple act of kindness and appreciation mean the world to me. I decided not to put anything in the bulletin as people might think their Priest desperately needs recognition. Before this day ends, designated as World Priest Sunday,  a couple of hours from now, I’d like to acknowledge the extraordinary work and enormous sacrifice of my brother Priests, in all aspects of the ordained ministry, but especially those not seeking to climb the pecking order, serving the church unconditionally, behind the limelight, without any attempt at advancing their personal interests,  those struggling to spread the Gospel in hostile environments in the throes of losing their precious lives, those laboring in missionary fields intent to make Jesus known, those assigned slums and remote areas of the Dioceses in the Philippines and across the globe.
For All the Saints!
