Archbishop Palma to succeed Cardinal Vidal in Cebu

The Vatican Information Service announced in its website that the Holy Father appointed Archbishop Palma of the Archdiocese of Palo, Leyte, Philippines to succeed Cardinal Vidal in Cebu. I was totally flabbergasted when Fr. Miguel broke the news to me. Close ba  kami? Not really. But, a month ago, he visited the Diocese of Tucson and met Bishop Kicanas, who, at that time, had just arrived from a meeting in D.C. Fr. Miguel, with the Filipino Priests in the Diocese, hosted a welcome dinner for him at St. Joseph Parish. As someone who had literally no knowledge in cooking, I just showed up vested and with my, unexpectedly, voracious appetite. After a lengthy conversation and lots of picture taking, I offered a tour in Central Arizona, my neck of the woods but they said, they had to leave the next day to LA and catch the flight back to Pinas. I remember when I was getting off the driveway heading back home just before midnight, he jokingly said, nice car. Thanks Your Grace, now, Your Eminence. Too bad, Fr. Ricky missed it!
