Woe to you!

Have you ever called a meeting and nobody showed up? Have you ever given an assignment and your students totally unprepared? Smoke probably would start coming out of your noses and ears, by then. Have you ever announced an examination and nobody studied? Have you ever shown love, and mercy and got no thank you’s? Have you ever done a good thing but to no avail? Have you ever hosted a party and no one came? Have you ever tried to initiate a program and become a dismal failure? Have you ever had a session where almost everyone was hostile? Have you ever admonished or picked on someone and all you got was murmur, grumbling and little devils trying to impersonate you? It is devastating. I probably would stop doing this thing for God. This is exactly what Jesus was trying to communicate to the crowds.

For some, the readings today are terrible but actually, they invite us to grab every opportunity to encounter the holy one of God in a quite unique and different way. Amen.
